Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
- Turn on the printer.
Check for Paper Jams
Open the printer’s paper tray and check for any paper jams, even small pieces of paper that may have gotten stuck inside.
Also check the printer’s output tray and inside the cartridge area for anything obstructing the print path.
Check for Error Codes
The flashing lights may be signaling a specific error. Usually, if you check the printer's display screen (if it has one) or the HP printer software on your computer, there will be an error code or message associated with the flashing lights.
If there is an error code, search online for troubleshooting steps specific to that code.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
