HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

As many others have posted in the forum, my OfficeJet 7740 recently started spending more time in an error state than functional, showing error code B82F6174. In looking through some of the threads, it appears that there is a fix but that you have to be guided through it by someone special. Can someone please assist me getting my printer back to functional? Or do I need to call customer service? This definitely seems to be a firmware issue since so many people had the issue appear at the same time.

Thanks.

That's the version of the firmware that is already on there. Will re-applying the firmware fix the issue?

Hi @Dale-I-Am

Thank you for replying to us

You may try updating the firmware and check if the issue persists.

Also, I suggest that you follow the steps listed below to reset the unit to factory defaults.

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).

2. Touch Printer Maintenance .

3. Touch Restore.

4. Touch Restore Factory Defaults.

A message appears stating that the factory defaults will be restored.

5. Touch Continue.

Let me know if this helps.

This may have worked for me.
