Hi @SamuelCoc,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've encountered a persistent issue with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer. Since you've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps by turning it off and unplugging it, it's likely that there's a more complex issue at play.

Here are a few additional steps you can try.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink levels. Sometimes, low ink levels can trigger error messages.
  • Inspect for Jammed Paper: Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper or debris that may be obstructing the printer mechanism.
  • Reset the Printer: Try performing a hard reset on the printer. To do this, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware malfunction with the printer, such as a faulty sensor or component.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
