Hi @Cookie102

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The B80B1E8A error code on your HP 9018 printer, combined with the issue of paper jams only occurring during wireless printing, indicates that there could be a specific issue related to the wireless communication or settings rather than a mechanical paper jam problem.

Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check the Printer Queue and Settings

  • Possible Cause: Sometimes, the printer queue can get stuck or corrupted during wireless printing, causing the paper to jam during the print job.
  • Solution:
    1. Clear the Printer Queue: On your computer, go to the Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners) section in the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac). Find your HP 9018 printer, right-click on it, and select See what's printing.
    2. If there are any stuck print jobs, cancel or delete them.
    3. Restart the printer and your computer and try printing again.

2. Reboot Your Router and Printer

  • Possible Cause: The wireless connection between your printer and router might be unstable or temporarily malfunctioning, which could be causing incomplete print jobs and paper jams.
  • Solution:
    1. Turn off your printer and router.
    2. Wait for about 30 seconds, then turn the router back on, followed by turning the printer back on.
    3. Try printing again to see if the issue persists.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Possible Cause: Outdated printer firmware can cause errors during wireless printing.
  • Solution:
    1. Check if there’s a firmware update available for your HP 9018 printer. You can do this by visiting HP’s official support website and entering your printer model.
    2. Alternatively, you can update the firmware through the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone.
    3. Follow the instructions to install the update and then try printing again.

4. Check Paper Settings

  • Possible Cause: Incorrect paper settings could cause issues only during wireless printing, as the printer might not be properly aligned with the document you are trying to print, even though it works fine for copying.
  • Solution:
    1. Make sure you have selected the correct paper size and type in both your print settings and on the printer itself.
    2. Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly and that the tray is aligned properly.

5. Check for Wireless Interference

  • Possible Cause: If there’s too much interference on the wireless network, the printer might lose communication with the computer and cause print jobs to fail, resulting in the error.
  • Solution:
    1. Try printing directly from your device to the printer using a USB cable (if possible) to rule out any wireless issues.
    2. Ensure that your router is in a place with minimal interference, and check if other devices on the network are also experiencing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
