Batch of Laserjet M102 printers printing slowly

A client has a batch of Lasjert M102W printers purchased a few months ago.  Each device is connected via USB to a Windows Pro 10 X64 PC with 16GB RAM and all with SSD's.  All users have admin privilege (due to a software limitation).

 

Since updating the firmware and updating printer drivers in response to HPSBPI03666 rev. 2, users report that from time to time:

  1. Printing slows to one page, waits 30 seconds, then begins printing the next page in a multipage document.
  2. Some pages have content cut off the bottom of the page.

Since the problem first arose I have:

  • Disconnected the printer
  • Manually removed the printer driver from "print Server" in Win10
  • downloaded a fresh copy of the driver from HP
  • reinstalled - install driver, connect printer when prompted, allow to complete.
  • ran HP PrintScan Dr

Let us perform an NVRAM reset on one of the printer to check if this helps to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
