Hi @Vrose84 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the constant beeping after replacing the black printhead on your HP Smart Tank Wireless 455 could be due to a few potential issues. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

1. Check Printhead Installation:

  • Make sure that the black printhead is properly installed and securely seated in its slot.
  • Remove the black printhead and carefully reinsert it, ensuring it clicks into place.

2. Inspect for Obstructions or Damage:

  • Open the printer cover and inspect the printhead area for any visible obstructions, debris, or damage.
  • Check the printhead contacts (the gold or copper contacts on the printhead and the corresponding contacts in the printer) for any ink, dust, or damage. If needed, gently clean them with a lint-free cloth and a bit of distilled water.

3. Reboot the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on to see if the beeping stops.

4. Use the Printer’s Control Panel:

  • Check the printer's control panel for any error messages or warnings that may provide more information about the issue.

5. Firmware Update: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. An outdated firmware could cause compatibility issues with new printheads. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or the HP website.

6. Reset the Printer:

  • If you haven't already, perform a factory reset on the printer. Be aware that this will erase all settings and return the printer to its default state.
  • To do this, navigate to the printer's settings menu and look for an option to restore factory settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
