Black ink cartridge

HP Recommended
HP Photosmart 7520
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Printer has 2 black cartridges.  One is the BLACK XL with pentagon icon.  The other is Black with butterfly icon.  When I order refills, I get the black xl and the tricolor.  I do not use photo printing.  The cartridge fill indicator continues to ask for replacement for the secondary black cartridge.  I have not responded since printer seems to work ok.  Is that reasonable?

@drfah, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Yes, this printer uses 5 ink cartridges among which one is a regular black and the other one is the photo black. If the photo black ink cartridge is completely empty, you will have to replace it to get a good print quality.

As of now, if the print quality is satisfactory and if you are able to print, you need not replace it.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
