Photosmart 5525

Photosmart 5525 has new HP black cartridge installed, have printed a print Quality and aligned but the black ink does not print. Changed out and put another new cartridge in and still does not work. Went through all of the process for troubleshooting and looks like printer head needs to be cleaned. This model does not have removable one. What are my options s?

I understand you are not able to print in black, let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

 

Make sure the protective plastic tape if any is removed from the new ink cartridges before placing them in the printer. 

 

Check the estimated ink levels to make sure the printer is recognizing the black ink cartridge.

 

Clean the printhead

  1. From the control panel home screen, touch the Settings icon , and then touch Tools.

  2. Touch the Down Arrow , and then touch Clean Printhead. The printer cleans the printheads, and then prints a test page.

  3. Run the cleaning again for better results.

Use the control panel to print a Print Quality Diagnostic report.

  1. Load plain, white paper in the tray.

  2. From the control panel home screen, touch the Settings icon .

  3. Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.
