Note for common printer problems
Customers receiving the"will damage your computer" message along with others like "unable to access cups/tmp" or "'@%' cannot be opened" need to update their version of the macOS. Please check this article for more information: "HPxxxxx.framework" will damage your computer" message in macOS Catalina or Mojave .

Black ink will not print OfficeJet Pro 6978

My printer doesn't print black ink after I replaced a new cartridge. uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted, shut down, gray scale, black only... the test page is only in color but the printer ink level for black is 100%. I replaced the color cartridges at the same time. I have tried ALL 18 steps listed on the help page!! 

Please advise....

If you have already performed the steps from the document  Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
