HP Envy 6000

Looking to help my dad with a tech issue. He's trying to print a booking sheet from a website with his HP Envy 6000 printer, but every time he does so, first there is a page that appears to be some sort of file or category name and the name of the printer model, then there are several pages of horizontal blacklines with some emoticons.

Most unusually, the preview of what is to be printed looks perfectly fine before the actual print. No sign of the file name page or any pages with emoticons.

This issue does not appear when trying to print other files or from other sites.

This issue is replicable, and happens every time he tries to print this booking sheet.

Trying to reset both the printer and the computer have not fixed this issue.

The test sheet prints fine and the ink levels are up to par according to the connected app.

Appreciate any help we can get!

Hi @SamuelTatty ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your dad is encountering a specific issue when printing from a particular website, which is quite peculiar. Since the preview appears fine but the actual printout is problematic, it seems there might be an issue with how the website's content is being interpreted by the printer or the print driver.

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue further:

Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that the printer drivers on your dad's computer are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues with certain websites or documents.

Print from Another Browser: If your dad is using a specific web browser to print the booking sheet, try printing from a different browser to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is browser-specific.

Check Printer Settings: Verify the printer settings both in the browser and the computer's printer settings. Make sure that the settings match the requirements for printing the booking sheet correctly.

Print as PDF: Instead of printing directly from the website, try printing the booking sheet as a PDF file first, and then print the PDF file. This might help bypass any formatting issues that could be causing the problem.

Check for Website Compatibility: Ensure that the website is compatible with the browser being used and that it supports printing without issues. Sometimes, websites may have compatibility issues with certain browsers or printing systems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
