Hi @TLC1229,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 has a blank screen, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue and hopefully retrieve the WPS PIN:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. Check if the screen lights up.

2. Check the Power Supply

  • Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Try using a different outlet to rule out power issues.

3. Perform a Hard Reset

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Turn the printer on and see if the screen is functioning.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  • If the screen lights up after the reset, check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or HP's support website.

5. Access WPS PIN through a Computer

  • If you can't retrieve the WPS PIN from the printer, you may be able to find it through the HP Smart app or the HP Smart website if your printer is already connected to the network.
  • Alternatively, you can connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the WPS button on your router. Press the WPS button on your router, then press the WPS button on the printer (if available).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
