Hi @dmnorman
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A blue flashing light on your printer, along with other indicators blinking, usually signals a specific error or issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
Identify the Error Code:
- If there’s a specific error code displayed on the screen, note it down. This can help narrow down the issue.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset any temporary errors.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the printer to check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing the issue. Ensure the paper path is clear.
Inspect Ink Cartridges:
- Check that the ink cartridges are installed correctly and are not empty or damaged. Remove and reseat them if necessary.
Check for Overheating:
- If the printer has been in use for an extended period, it may overheat. Allow it to cool down before trying to use it again.
Review the User Manual:
- Consult your printer’s user manual for specific troubleshooting steps related to the flashing blue light and error codes.
Run Diagnostics:
- Many printers have built-in diagnostic tools. Access the printer’s menu to see if there’s a way to run a diagnostic test.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the manufacturer’s website. Updating can resolve various issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
