HP Envy Inspire 7255e was shut down for a short time but when restarting it goes to blue screen showing error code B80B4696. Lights on front panel are flashing and I can not access the control panel. Have attempted procedures outlined in other post but nothing changes.

Hi @stuman57,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The blue screen error code B80B4696 typically points to a hardware issue or a firmware problem with your HP Envy Inspire 7255e printer. Given the lights on the front panel are flashing and you can’t access the control panel, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue.
Power Cycle:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds to ensure that all internal components are completely powered down.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on to see if the issue is resolved.
Check Connections:
- Ensure all cables and connections (power, USB, etc.) are securely connected.
- If using a wireless connection, make sure your network is stable.
Firmware Reset:
- Try performing a factory reset, if possible. This usually involves holding down specific buttons while turning on the printer, but the exact combination may vary. Check the printer’s manual for instructions on performing a factory reset.
Firmware Update:
- If you can access the HP Support website or the HP Smart app, check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer and follow the instructions to update it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Well after spending over an hour on line with tech support which included them taking over my computer and doing a one way video chat so they could see what was going on , my printer was found to have catastrophic failure. Fortunately it is still under warranty and they are sending us a new one.
