Here's a step-by-step approach to try and resolve the issue:

Power Cycle the Printer:

• Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the back.
• Wait for at least 60 seconds.
• Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Reset the Printer:

• With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
• Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
• Wait for 60 seconds.
• Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
• Turn the printer back on.

Check for Paper Jams:

• Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
• Make sure the paper path is clear.

Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

• If possible, check for any firmware updates for your printer. You can do this by visiting the HP Software and Driver Downloads page and entering your printer model.
