@Bundega, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 615 is showing a blue screen on the control panel while still printing, but not allowing access to functions like copy or scan, it may be due to a scanner or firmware-related error. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve it:

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer using the Power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn the printer on.
  • Check if the screen returns to normal.

Check for Scanner Errors

If the screen remains blue and copy/scan icons are still inaccessible:

  • This could be an E5 error, indicating a scanner malfunction.
  • Try pressing the Cancel button and attempt a scan again.
  • If it fails, power off and restart the printer.

Update Printer Firmware

A firmware glitch may cause display issues. To update:

You may need to temporarily connect the printer via USB to perform the update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
