Bought this printer brand new. Right out of the box I am setting it up with the panel instructions. As soon as I put in the ink cartridges I get the message 'The original is jammed in the document feeder.

 

I have not even started using the document scanner or any feature so there is no paper in The document feeder, just the ink and paper in the bottom tray. I followed all the steps stated and pressed OK. I removed  the ink and paper in the bottom tray. I restarted the printer several times and still the same error message.

I inspected the printer, there is no packaging tape, debris or paper in the feede. TThere are no signs of damage. 

 

The printer has never been used. Can you help me.

In that case just return it to the store where you purchased it.

Make sure that the ADF cover is closed all the way.

I tried all of those suggestions. The printer allowed me a few minutes to complete the setup. But as soon as I tried to use the document feeder the error came back.
