Anyone to show me how to reset HP8720?  It says the system is locked by administrator.  I have been the only owner and I don't remember setting up any password to lock the printer.  How can I unlock this?

Password reset

  1. Press Power button to turn the Printer On.
  2. Press BL, BL, BL, BL Buttons, in sequence. (BL stands for Bottom Left. Normally the button on the bottom left is the back arrow. And you need to do this while the front panel of the printer is on the Home screen)
  3. Touch Support Menu.
  4. Select Reset Menu and Touch OK.
  5. Select Semi-Full Reset and Touch OK.
  6. Wait for unit to Power Down/Turn Off.

Here's how you can try to reset your HP8720:

  1. Reset NVRAM: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. While the printer is turning on, press and hold the "Back" and "Home" buttons simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds until the printer resets.

  2. Factory Reset: If the above method doesn't work, you can try performing a factory reset. To do this, go to the printer's control panel menu, navigate to "Setup" or "Settings," then look for the "Restore Defaults" option. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the printer to its factory settings.

  3. Contact HP Support: If you're still unable to unlock the printer after trying the above steps, it's possible that there's a more serious issue with the printer's firmware or hardware. In this case, it's best to contact HP customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or guide you through the process of unlocking the printer.

I hope one of these solutions helps you unlock your HP8720 printer!
