Hi @Pegalicious51,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Great question! On the HP Tango, the light bar is your printer’s way of “talking” to you, and the color change from blue to yellow means something important:

What Does Yellow Light Mean?

  • Blue light usually indicates the printer is connected and ready.
  • Yellow (amber) light means the printer is in attention state—it’s trying to tell you something like:
    • The printer is offline or not connected to Wi-Fi.
    • There’s an issue with the HP app setup.
    • A cartridge or paper problem.

Steps to Fix the Yellow Light

  1. Check Wi-Fi Connection
    • Make sure your Tango is within range of your router.
    • Restart your router and printer.

  2. Re-add Printer in HP App
    • Open HP App → Tap Add Printer → Follow on-screen steps.
    • If the printer isn’t found, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the back of the Tango until the light bar pulses blue, then retry.

  3. Update Firmware
    • In the HP app, go to Printer Settings → Advanced Settings → Firmware Update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
