Can’t print black and white while colour cartridges depleted

I can’t print black and white while a colour cartridge is depleted. An error message says “ Depleted cartridges must be replaced to resume printing.” Normally, I can still print black and white or colour in grey scale when colour cartridges is/are depleted. Any one know the reason of this problem?

Answer

 

This printer does not support printing without all cartridges.

When one of the ink cartridges is completely depleted, the printer should complain and refuse to print.

 

 

  HP Printers - Cannot Print When One HP Ink Cartridge is Empty

The printers listed in this document cannot print when one ink cartridge is empty.

Your printer is designed to print only when all ink cartridges have ink. Some ink from all the ink cartridges is used in periodic servicing tasks. This helps to prevent issues such as printhead clogs and poor print quality. There is no way to bypass this feature.
