Hi @Kenn02,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're facing a connectivity or communication issue between your iPhones, MacBook, and the newly bought HP Smart Tank 210 printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the "printer is busy" issue:

1. Power Cycle Printer and Devices:

  • Turn off the printer, iPhones, and MacBook.
  • Unplug the printer for about 60 seconds and plug it back in.
  • Turn on the printer and your devices.

2. Ensure Printer is Connected to the Same WiFi Network:

  • Check that the printer and all your devices (iPhones and MacBook) are connected to the same WiFi network. If any are connected to different networks (like 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz), they might not communicate well.

3. Update Firmware and Software:

  • Update the printer's firmware by going to the HP Smart app or visiting the HP website.
  • Make sure that the HP Smart app on your iPhones and MacBook is updated to the latest version.  HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
  • Check for any macOS/iOS updates on your devices.

4. Restart HP Smart App and Reconnect Printer:

  • Log out of the HP Smart app on your iPhones and MacBook, then log back in.
  • Remove the printer from the app and re-add it by selecting "Add a Printer" within the app.

5. Check for Printing Queues:

  • On your MacBook, open the printer queue from System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your HP Smart Tank 210, and make sure there are no jobs stuck in the queue.
  • On iPhones, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure there’s no paused print job under the printer’s name.

6. Reset Printing System on MacBook: How to reset the printing system in macOS

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on the printer list and select Reset Printing System. This will clear out any potential software conflicts. Then re-add the HP Smart Tank 210 printer.

7. Print Directly from a USB Connection:

  • If the wireless setup still doesn't work, try printing via a USB cable to see if the issue is wireless-specific.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
