Hi @Roysrs,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer displays a message like "Cannot print, visit hpinstantink" and won’t print anything despite having new cartridges, there may be an issue with the printer's connection to HP Instant Ink service or with the printer settings. Here’s how to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check HP Instant Ink Status

  • Ensure that your HP Instant Ink subscription is active and up-to-date. You can check this by logging into your HP Instant Ink account at HP Instant Ink.
  • Look for any service alerts or issues with your HP Instant Ink account that might be preventing printing.

2. Restart Printer and Devices

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Sometimes, restarting your computer can resolve communication issues between the computer and the printer.

3. Check Printer Connectivity

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device. If it’s a wireless printer, check the network settings on the printer's control panel.
  • If necessary, reconnect your printer to the network. You can typically do this through the printer’s control panel by navigating to the network or wireless settings.

4. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure that the new cartridges are installed correctly. Remove the cartridges and reinstall them to make sure they are seated properly.
  • Ensure that the cartridges you installed are the correct model for your printer and not expired or defective.

5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install the updated drivers on your computer.
  • Remove and then reinstall the printer on your computer. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select Remove device. Then, add the printer again.

6. Check Printer Software

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. Check for any prompts or alerts related to HP Instant Ink and follow the instructions provided.
  • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.

7. Visit HP Instant Ink Website

  • If you are prompted to visit hpinstantink.com, follow the on-screen instructions provided on the website. This may involve logging into your HP Instant Ink account and resolving any issues with your subscription or printer status.
  • If the website provides specific troubleshooting steps or requires you to contact support, follow those instructions to resolve the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
