I've tried removing powercord for 60 seconds but the power light continues to flash, when I go into HP Smart it cannot detect my printer. When I try and press wifi button and X and hold for 10 seconds the power button goes from fast flash to a slower flash, A 0 is displayed, I'm not sure what this means if anything. What else should I try before I give up?

Hi @NickyMacd,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Inkjet 2700e has a continuously flashing power light, HP Smart cannot detect it, and you’re unsure what the “0” displayed after the slow flash means. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power Reset the Printer Again (Extended)

Turn the printer off and unplug it from the wall.

Leave it unplugged for at least 5 minutes to fully discharge.

Plug it back in and power it on.

Check for Obstructions or Paper Jams

Open the ink access door and paper trays.

Ensure there’s no paper jam, stuck cartridge, or foreign object inside the printer.

Reseat or Replace Ink Cartridges

Remove all ink cartridges, check for protective tape or debris, and reinstall them firmly.

Sometimes a missing or improperly seated cartridge can cause the power light to flash continuously.

Reset the Printer Network Settings

Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and Cancel (X) button for 10–15 seconds until the power light flashes differently.

This should reset network settings, allowing HP Smart to detect it again.

Check for Firmware Recovery Mode

The slow flash and “0” on the display may indicate the printer has entered a firmware recovery or error state.

Leave the printer powered on for a few minutes; sometimes it auto-recovers.

Try a Different Power Outlet

Plug the printer into a known working outlet directly (no surge protectors or extension cords).

Electrical inconsistencies can prevent the printer from initializing fully.

Test with USB Connection

If Wi-Fi detection fails, try connecting the printer directly to your PC with a USB cable.

This can help determine if the issue is network-related or a deeper hardware fault.

Observe Any Error Codes or Patterns

Note if the flashing pattern changes or if the display shows numbers/letters.

This can help identify specific hardware or firmware issues.

I hope this helps.
