Hi @janderson1108,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Using cartridges from the Instant Ink program in a printer that is not enrolled in Instant Ink should generally not cause a problem with the printer itself. However, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
Cartridge Compatibility: Instant Ink cartridges are typically the same as standard cartridges in terms of physical compatibility. They should fit and function in your DeskJet 2700 series printer.
Instant Ink Enrollment: If you install Instant Ink cartridges in a printer that is not enrolled in Instant Ink, the printer will not be able to communicate with the HP Instant Ink service to monitor ink levels and order new cartridges automatically. You will need to manually monitor ink levels and purchase replacement cartridges as needed.
Printer Alerts: Sometimes, printers may display notifications or alerts indicating that the cartridges are not genuine or are not intended for use in the specific printer model. These alerts can usually be dismissed, but they may persist depending on the printer model and firmware.
Warranty Concerns: Using third-party or non-standard cartridges can sometimes affect printer warranty coverage, depending on the printer manufacturer's policies. However, using Instant Ink cartridges in a non-Instant Ink printer is typically not considered a warranty issue unless it causes damage directly attributable to the cartridges.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
