Hi @Happy12310,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I can imagine how unsettling it must feel to hear your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 hum to life, only to be met with a stubborn error: “Printer cartridge cannot move.” It’s like watching a train that’s ready to go but stuck at the station. Let’s gently guide it back on track.
Steps to Fix the Carriage Jam
1. Power Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the wall and wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
This clears temporary memory glitches.
2. Check for Obstructions
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Gently inspect the entire carriage path for:
- Torn paper
- Ink buildup
- Loose plastic pieces
- Remove anything you find with care.
3. Manually Move the Carriage
- With the printer off, gently slide the carriage to the center.
- If it resists, do not force it; this could damage the belt or motor.
4. Inspect the Carriage Belt
- Look for signs of wear or misalignment.
- If the belt is loose or frayed, it may need professional service.
5. Update Firmware
Visit Official HP® Support
Enter your printer model and install the latest firmware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
