I recently got a printer from my daughter, she had instant ink set up but cancelled her subscription so i could get my own.
Once the her subscription was cancelled, the printer stopped recognising the cartridges that were in the printer and i was unable to get the printer code from the printer to set up my hp instant ink account as I was unable to print the document required.
I ordered new cartirdges myself and they worked on one occasion but no the black ink is not being recognised.
Can anyone provide help on what to do?

Hi @Fabes61,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing an issue with printing after cancelling the instant ink service.
When you cancel the service:
- You can continue printing with Instant Ink supplies until the end of your current billing cycle.
- At the end of the billing cycle, you must remove Instant Ink cartridges and purchase Original HP Ink or Toner directly from the retailer of your choice to continue printing. Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers.
- Your final monthly charge comes at the end of the billing cycle.
- The Paper Add-on service ends with your Instant Ink service.
Note: HP Instant Ink is based on the pages you print, not cartridges or shipments you receive.
Please remove all the ink cartridges that are instant ink and replace them all with store purchased ink to resume printing.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
