Hi @Norbertopilot ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet GT 5820 printer is displaying an error that the cartridges are not designed for the printer, even though they are original, try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check Cartridge Compatibility
- Make sure the cartridges are the correct ones for your HP DeskJet GT 5820.
- The GT 5820 uses HP GT51 (Black) and HP GT52 (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) ink bottles.
- If you recently replaced one, verify that it matches the correct model.
2. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 2-3 minutes and plug it back in.
- Turn it on and check if the error persists.
3. Reinsert the Ink Cartridges
- Open the ink tank system and remove the cartridges.
- Inspect them for any dust, residue, or leaks.
- Gently wipe the contacts (gold/copper-colored part) with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
- Let them dry, then reinsert them securely into their slots.
4. Check for Firmware Updates
- Go to HP’s support website and download the latest firmware update for your printer.
- Install it and restart your printer.
5. Reset the Printer
- Press and hold the Power button and the Cancel (X) button together for 10-15 seconds.
- Release the buttons and wait for the printer to restart.
6. Try a Hard Reset
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord.
- Wait for 5 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
7. Check for Blockages in the Ink System
- Open the ink tank area and inspect for any dried ink or clogs in the tubing.
- If ink is not flowing properly, you may need to prime the ink system. Let me know if you need help with this.
8. Try a Different Cartridge
- If possible, try another set of original HP GT51/GT52 ink bottles to check if the issue is with the cartridge.
If none of these steps work, let me know if the printer is displaying a specific error code, and I can assist further!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

First to fall, thank you very much Gayathri for your excellent answer, it very kind from you. Unfortunately, I have tried hard, but, I found what it seems to be the problem, but I can’t solve it. It didn’t recognize the black cartridge at all. I don’t know what to do, the color cartridge in recognized ok, but the black one(that is the original one), it sed is not the right one(even the replace, that is the same number that the one that’s was before, that is the number that you send me on your message). Anyway, thanks again, if you know what could I do, I will be here, kind regards!
