Cartridges

Since my photos are lacking color, I did a Clean Cartridges.  I repeated this 3 times with the same results: magenta flawed.  This is an XL64 and the correct one called for in my printer setup.  Even tho'  the cartridges show "full", should I just buy a new color cartridge?
