HP PHOTOSMART 5520
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello, im trying to change my cartridges in my HP photosmart 5520 printer however when I replaced the ink, the printer showed "SETUP Cartridges cannot be used after the deviced has been initialized. Remove and install non-setup cartridges." i dont understand because the old inks were setup cartridges and it was working fine. Thank you for your help

Hi @Cass21,

I'd like to help!

Are you using regular ink cartridges and are you replacing all the cartridges?

If yes, We would have to perform an OOBE reset on the printer to bypass the error

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
