Hi @Helper13,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you changed internet companies, your printer might need to be reconnected to the new Wi-Fi network. The HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-in-One Printer asking for a username and password could mean that the printer is trying to connect to a secured network, or it might require the

Embedded Web Server (EWS) credentials, which are used for accessing the printer’s settings.

Here’s how you can reset or reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings and access your printer:

1. Reset Network Settings on the Printer:

Resetting the network settings will remove any saved Wi-Fi networks and allow you to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.

  1. On the printer control panel, tap the Wireless icon or open the Wireless Settings menu.
  2. Tap on Settings (gear icon).
  3. Select Network Setup or Restore Network Settings.
  4. Confirm the reset by selecting Yes.

This will restore the printer’s network settings to their factory defaults.

2. Reconnect the Printer to Your New Wi-Fi Network:

Once the network settings are reset, you will need to reconnect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.

  1. On the printer control panel, go to the Wireless Settings or Wi-Fi Setup menu.
  2. Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password.

3. Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

If your printer is asking for a username and password to access settings:

  1. Open a web browser on a device connected to the same network as the printer.
  2. Enter the printer’s IP address in the browser’s address bar. You can find the IP address by printing a Network Configuration Report from the printer settings.
  3. When prompted for a username and password:
    • The default username might be admin.
    • The default password could be blank, admin, or it may have been set by you earlier.

4. Factory Reset the Printer (If Needed):

If you cannot access the EWS because you don't remember the username and password, perform a factory reset:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Hold down the Resume button (paper icon) while reconnecting the power cord.
  3. Continue holding the Resume button until the printer lights flash.

After resetting, you will need to set up your printer again from scratch.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the explanation.  When I unplug my printer, is the "Resume" the start button?  As I held it while plugging it back in only 2 light came on and neither flashed.  HP says it still cannot connect to the printer.
