I need to cold reset a M254dw printer and do not have the password. I understand from a previous thread that this procedure is specific to my printer and confidential. Thank you in advance.

I need to cold reset the printer not factory reset it. The printer has a password that I don't know, and I cannot reset it in that way.

I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:

 

  • Power off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the back of the printer and the wall socket. Leave it unplugged for 60 seconds.
  • After waiting, reconnect everything back as it was.
  • When you power the printer on, immediately press and hold the touch panel for a few seconds until the below screen appears.
