New ink won’t print working once now says color ink is empty/ blinking

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2755e printer is having trouble recognizing the new color ink cartridge, even though it's installed correctly. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue.

 

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Make sure the new color ink cartridge is properly installed. Remove the cartridge and reinstall it to ensure it's seated correctly.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Check if the issue persists.

Check the Ink Cartridge for Protection Tape:

  • New ink cartridges often come with a protective tape or plastic cover. Ensure you have removed all protective covers from the new cartridge before installing it.

Perform a Cartridge Reset:

  • Try removing both the color and black cartridges.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, making sure they are inserted firmly.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause issues with cartridge recognition. You can update it through the HP Smart app or HP support website.

Run the Printer's Cleaning Cycle:

  • If your printer allows, run a cleaning cycle through the printer's menu (using the printer's display or HP Smart app). This can help clear any clogs or issues that may prevent the ink from printing.

Check for Ink Compatibility:

  • Make sure the ink cartridge you're using is compatible with the HP DeskJet 2755e printer. Sometimes, third-party cartridges may not be recognized correctly.
