Microsoft Windows 11

Constant spooling issues on HP officejet Pro 8020e series.   Yet printer drivers are supposed to be up to date per HP and so are Windows 11 updates.   I've reset spooler dozens of times and this happens again.

Issue started around September and hasn't cleared at all.  Only changes have been new HP ink cartridges and regular Windows updates.

Hi @KAG56,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Spooling issues can prevent your printer from executing print jobs correctly. Below are steps to help troubleshoot and resolve these issues on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e series printer:

1. Restart Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Windows + R keys, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Find the "Print Spooler" service in the list.
  3. Right-click on it and select Restart.

2. Clear Print Queue

  1. Press Windows + R, type control, and press Enter to open the Control Panel.
  2. Go to Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e printer and select See what's printing.
  4. In the new window, click on Printer in the menu bar and choose Cancel All Documents.

3. Update Printer Drivers

  1. Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
  2. Enter your printer model and follow the prompts to download and install the latest drivers for your printer.

4. Check for OS Updates

Ensure that your operating system is up to date, as updates may contain fixes for printing issues.

5. Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Wait for about 30 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a blissful day 😇.
