Hi @alinawazmallhi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Mf225dw printer is continuously printing without receiving any explicit print commands, it may be experiencing a glitch or it might be processing multiple queued documents. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and possibly resolve this issue:

Check the Print Queue:

  • On your computer, open the device settings for printers and check the print queue. There might be multiple documents waiting to be printed, causing continuous printing. Cancel all the jobs in the queue and see if the printer stops.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about a minute.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This can help to reset the printer's internal memory and clear any errors.

Check for Stuck Buttons:

  • Sometimes, if a button on the printer (like the 'print' button) is stuck, it can cause the printer to continue printing. Check to ensure no buttons are jammed.

Printer Settings:

  • Look through the printer’s onboard menu (using its LCD screen and buttons, if available) to see if there’s any setting that’s causing it to reprint documents or continuously print.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause unexpected behavior, including continuous printing. Visit the HP website, download the latest drivers for your HP Mf225dw, and install them.
  • Alternatively, you can uninstall and then reinstall the printer drivers to ensure they are correctly configured.

Inspect for Malware:

  • Make sure that your computer is not infected with malware which might be sending print jobs to the printer. Run a complete system scan using your antivirus software.

Check Network Settings:

  • If your printer is networked, it could be receiving jobs from another computer on the network. Check the network settings and secure your printer against unauthorized access.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
