Hi @Imran5252,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error "Pen in left chute has error (21)" typically refers to an issue with the ink cartridge (pen) installed in the left slot of your HP printer. This error could be due to a problem with the cartridge itself or the printer's ability to recognize it.

Here are the steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check and Reseat the Cartridge

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the cartridge access door and carefully remove the left cartridge.
  • Inspect the cartridge for damage, ink leaks, or debris on the electrical contacts.
  • Gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Let the contacts dry completely, then reinsert the cartridge securely.

Use a Different Cartridge

  • If you have a spare or another compatible cartridge, replace the current one to determine if the issue is with the cartridge itself.

Clean the Printer’s Cartridge Chute

  • Check inside the printer’s cartridge chute for any obstructions or dried ink buildup.
  • Clean it gently using a lint-free cloth.

Restart and Reset the Printer

  • After reseating or replacing the cartridge, reconnect the printer to power and turn it on.
  • Perform a hard reset by unplugging the printer for 2–3 minutes and plugging it back in.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest firmware for your model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
