Hi @mmg3948

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet Plus 4152 is having trouble recognizing the ink cartridge or encountering a general error.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for any damage or debris.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly and ensure they click into place.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
  • Let the contacts dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer while it's turned on.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any residual errors.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for any firmware updates for your printer. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause cartridge recognition issues.

Run a Diagnostic Test:

  • Use the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app to run a diagnostic test. This can help identify the root cause of the issue.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
