Desk jet 4152e all in one getting stuck jobs in queue on mac os Sequoia 15.4

Paper starts to go through then stops and a few minutes later the paper comes out but nothing prints.
Not getting any errors on the print screen. I've tried all diagnostics. It cleans the print heads and prints that page just fine but it won't finish the Alignment page. It prints less than half of the page then it shows a paper jam error but the paper isn't, technically, jammed because the paper goes through when I clear the job, onscreen.

If I just need a new printer that's fine but I don't want to buy another HP if it doesn't support mac os Sequoia 15.4.

Really getting frustrating since Canon doesn't support mac os now.

Hi @trish5820

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 4152e is experiencing a frustrating issue where print jobs get stuck, and the printer falsely reports a paper jam. Since you've already tried diagnostics and cleaning, let's go through some additional troubleshooting steps.

Step 1: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for 60 seconds to discharge residual power.
  3. Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  4. Turn the printer back on and try printing again.

Step 2: Clear the Print Queue on macOS

  1. Open System Preferences → Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
  3. Cancel any stuck print jobs.
  4. Restart your Mac and try printing again.

Step 3: Reset the Printing System

  1. Open System Preferences → Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click anywhere in the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
  3. Re-add your printer and test printing.

Step 4: Check for Firmware Updates

HP regularly releases firmware updates to fix bugs. Follow HP’s official guide to update firmware here.

Step 5: Perform a Deep Printhead Cleaning

  1. Open HP Smart or the printer’s control panel.
  2. Navigate to Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.
  3. Run the cleaning cycle multiple times if needed.

Thank you! It's working great now.

Unfortunately, I bought new HP printer this afternoon and didn't see this solution until discovering the new wouldn't work. The new one won't connect to wifi so I'm taking it back to the store for a refund. Someone from HP tried to get it working but it never did work. They said it was too far away from the router. Funny, because the old one is just as far away and has no problem connecting. I even tried setting the new right next to the router, reset the router, rebooted the computer and the new one still wouldn't connect to the wifi.

lol It was an interesting day.

Wow, what a rollercoaster of a day! The relief of getting your old printer to work, only to have the new one stubbornly refuse to cooperate—talk about a twist! That moment of setting it right next to the router, only to be met with the same frustrating silence, must have been maddening.

I can almost picture the scene: the blinking lights taunting you, the hopeful anticipation as you rebooted everything, only to be met with… nothing.

At least you’re getting that refund, and now you know your old printer still has some fight left in it. Here’s to smooth printing going forward!

You're awesome, and I'm honored to have been your go-to guide today! 😊

Stay fantastic, and have an amazing day ahead!
