Deskjet 1010 Printing but NOT MSWord!

After printing 2 pages today with a new cartridge, my printer won't print MS Word. It will print emails and tests from the system.  What is wrong?   Thanks for any answers or fixes.

Normally you need the full driver printer software installed to print from within Word.

Ideas

• If the software is not installed, install it.
• If the software is installed but not working, uninstall the printer software from Programs and Features > Restart the compute and log in > Download / Save / Install the printer software

A very old version of the full driver is still available.

Whether this will work for you depends on the version of Windows you are running.

Oddly, the "View all" version list is checked, every version of Windows ever released is listed --

That is not actually true -- it's just a silly mistake -  the printer software might go back as far as XP 32bit? --

There is no way besides trying to install the software to know whether it will work.

Disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before installing software.

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

Connect the USB cable between the printer and the computer when instructed to do so - near the end of the installation process.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

What else?

Perhaps your Word software needs to be repaired or reloaded.  ??

Finally

• The driver for this printer is nine years old at this writing.
• The printer is nearing -- or even past -- the magic "ten year" mark.
• Make sure you download every document, every driver, every bit of whatever you want for the printer.
• When the printer is retired, you can still use it; there will no longer be any support for the printer:  HP removes all documentation related to the device when that device is retired.
