A family member's Deskjet 2700e isn't working. As the "tech guy" in the family, I was called to help fix it, and tried my best, but couldn't. The printer keeps doing the alignment test over and over again, not just when you put in a new ink cartridge. You can barely print from it, because it has no time in between the alignment tests!

Hi @beatmakeroffici,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It can be frustrating when a printer is stuck in a continuous alignment test loop. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue with your HP Deskjet 2700e.
Check for Properly Installed Cartridges:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed in the printer. Remove and reinsert them to make sure they are securely in place.
Update Firmware/Software:
- Check if there are any firmware or software updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware or software can resolve such issues.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridges with a lint-free cloth.
- Clean the contacts inside the printer as well.
- Reinstall the cartridges and turn the printer back on.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Wait for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
- Check if the alignment loop continues.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause issues.
Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults:
- Access the printer settings through the control panel or the printer software on your computer.
- Look for an option to reset the printer to factory defaults.
- After resetting, check if the alignment loop issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
