Hi @GAH2025
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Your HP DeskJet 2852e may be printing slowly or pausing due to outdated firmware, network interference, or enabled Quiet Mode. These issues often surface after a few months of use or after updates.
Let’s walk through the most effective steps to restore normal print speed and eliminate delays:
Recommended Fixes for Slow or Paused Printing
1. Restart and Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
- Power it on and try printing again.
2. Check for Firmware Updates
Outdated firmware can cause performance issues.
- Go to: HP DeskJet 2852e Drivers & Firmware
- Download and install the latest firmware update for your printer.
- Follow on-screen instructions carefully during installation.
3. Disable Quiet Mode
Quiet Mode reduces noise but also slows printing.
- Open the HP Smart app on your PC or mobile device.
- Go to Printer Settings > Preferences > Quiet Mode
- Turn Quiet Mode OFF and save changes.
4. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength
Weak or unstable Wi-Fi can cause delays.
- Ensure your printer is within 6–10 feet of your router.
- Avoid placing it near microwaves, cordless phones, or metal surfaces.
- If possible, switch to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band for better range.
5. Clear Print Queue and Restart Spooler
- On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
- Right-click your printer and select See what’s printing
- Cancel all pending jobs
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter
- Find Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Restart
Let me know if the issue persists after these steps. I can help you check for Instant Ink status, driver conflicts, or walk you through a full reset.
