Hello, I have an HP Deskjet 3755, and I would like to use it to copy many different things. However, for a lot of the things I would like to copy, the exact dimensions are quite important, so I need to ensure copied images/formatting come out exactly to scale. (Standard 8.5" x 11" pages) But by default, copying adds a small margin reducing the overall image size by something like 10%, which will not work for me.

I have seen the solutions suggested on the default Q&A "Look in the settings menu" and "Scan the image, then use custom print settings from your computer." The latter is far from ideal for me, as I will be copying many different documents, and repeating that process for each one will be considerable labor. For the DJ3755 specifically, does it support these kinds of setting changes directly? And if so, how should I access them? Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Community --

This basic top-loader DeskJet printer might not be the best tool for the job.

At this writing, DeskJet printers (including this one) require a larger margin along the bottom edge -- 12.7mm (1/2 inch)

Borderless PrintingNo
Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)3 mm

Copier SettingsReduce to Fit (don't support Auto-enlarge)

These restrictions are hardware based -- the limitations cannot be "fixed" using software to copy, scan, or print the content.

Depending on your Operating System / version, the software / application you have to use, and the actual size of the content to be scanned, you might be able to scan the content and save it at size using Page Size = Entire Scan Area

Printing the saved file might still be a problem -- remember the margins required by the printer.

Ah, I understand. So that model of printer cannot physically print along the very edges of the paper, and so is forced to create a margin during printing one way or another. Unfortunate, but this makes sense. Do you know if there are any settings that allow for "Actual Size" but just cut off the image in the section where the printer is unable to print? This may be a helpful quick-solution for me while I look for other alternatives, if it is possible.
