Hi @PatAlex1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have trouble where the display on your HP Envy 4512 printer not functioning. Here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Perform a Power Reset

This is the most common fix for display issues:

  1. Turn on the printer (if it’s not already on).
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it’s still on.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.

This often resets the internal hardware and restores the display

2. Try a Different Power Source

  • Plug the printer into a different wall outlet to rule out power delivery issues.

3. Check for Firmware Updates

If the screen lights up but stays blank, a firmware issue might be the cause:

4. If the Display Is Still Dead

If the screen remains completely unresponsive:

  • The display panel or internal board may be faulty.
  • If under warranty, we can check for a repair or replacement.
  • If out of warranty, a local technician may be able to replace the display module.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
