Hi @Billybob33,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer may not be configured correctly for double-sided (duplex) printing. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot the issue.
- Check Printer Settings: Make sure your printer settings are configured for double-sided printing. When you go to print a document, there should be an option somewhere in the print settings to enable duplex printing. Look for "Duplex Printing," "Two-Sided Printing," or a similar option, and ensure it's set to "On" or "Automatic."
- Driver Update: Ensure that your printer driver is up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause issues with certain functions of the printer. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website or through the HP Smart app.
- Printer Properties: Once you've selected the print option in your document, before hitting print, check the printer properties. Look for a setting related to duplex printing. Sometimes this setting can override the default printer settings.
- Printer Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can sometimes address bugs or issues with printer functions.
- Paper Type and Size: Ensure that the paper type and size settings in both your printer and printing software match the paper you're using. Mismatched settings can sometimes cause the printer to not recognize that it can print double-sided.
- Physical Inspection: Check the printer's manual feed tray or the output tray for any paper jams or obstructions that might prevent it from printing on both sides.
- Test with Different Documents: Try printing double-sided with different documents or file types. Sometimes the issue might be specific to a particular document or file format.
By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with double-sided printing on your HP Envy 5560.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
