HP LaserJet P2055dn Printer

I am experiencing issues with my HP LaserJet P2055x printer. Some pages are being skipped during printing, and when I select double-sided printing, some pages print correctly double-sided, while others print only on one side. Additionally, some pages are being printed upside down.

I am trying to find out why this is happening and how I can resolve the issue, including any steps for resetting the printer's memory or addressing the issues with the printing.

Hi @teysir

To address the issues with your HP LaserJet P2055dn printer skipping pages, having inconsistencies with double-sided printing, and printing some pages upside down, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Check Printer Settings

  • Verify Print Settings:
    • Ensure that the print settings in your print dialog box are correctly configured for double-sided (duplex) printing.
    • Check the Orientation settings to ensure pages are not set to print upside down.
    • Verify that the paper size and type settings in the printer properties match the actual paper loaded in the printer.

2. Check Printer Driver Settings

  • Update or Reinstall Driver:

    • Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed. Visit the HP Support site to download the most recent drivers for the HP LaserJet P2055dn.
    • Consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver to ensure a clean setup.
  • Page Order and Binding:

    • When setting up double-sided printing, check the Page Flip settings. Choose either Short Edge or Long Edge binding depending on how you want the pages to be flipped.

3. Adjust Printer Driver Properties

  • Access Printer Properties:
    • Go to Devices and Printers on your computer.
    • Right-click your HP LaserJet P2055dn and select Printer Properties.
    • Navigate to the Device Settings tab and ensure Duplex Unit is enabled.

4. Reset the Printer Memory

  • Reset to Factory Settings:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Hold down the Go button (the key with the green checkmark) while turning the printer back on.
    3. Release the button when the printer starts initializing to reset the device.

5. Print a Configuration Page

  • Test Page:
    • Print a configuration page from the printer's menu to ensure all settings are correct and the unit operates correctly.

6. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Firmware Update:
    • Visit the HP Support website to check if there is a newer firmware version available for your printer model that may resolve these issues.

7. Review Print Job Source

  • Document Formatting:
    • Ensure the document source (such as a Word or PDF document) isn't setting unexpected print instructions, such as custom page ranges or orientations.

Additional Tips

  • If problems persist, try restarting your computer and the printer to clear any temporary errors.
  • Ensure that your printer isn't overloaded with queued print jobs, which could cause miscommunication.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to resolve the issues with page skipping, double-sided printing inconsistencies, and upside-down pages with your HP LaserJet P2055dn printer.
