HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer

I have unplugged and rebooted twice and I am still getting the E flashing with error lights.

I have looked for jammed paper and do no see any. My ink levels are fine. Fustrated I cannot talk to a human about resolving this issue. Firmware is up to date.

Hi @Kjones12345,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your printer shows an "E" message with orange lights flashing and basic troubleshooting like unplugging and rebooting hasn’t resolved the issue, it indicates a more specific error or hardware issue. Here are some steps to help diagnose and fix the problem:

1. Identify the Error Code

The "E" message and flashing lights often correspond to specific error codes or problems. Refer to the printer's user manual or HP's support website for the exact meaning of the error code. If the manual isn’t clear, you might need to interpret the light patterns.

2. Check for Specific Error Codes

  • Display Panel: If your printer has a display panel, it might show a specific error code or message along with the "E" indicator. Note any additional codes or messages displayed.

3. Inspect Printer Components

  • Double-check the entire paper path for any small pieces of paper or debris.
  • Open all accessible doors and check for any obstructions.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and reinstall them to ensure they are seated properly.
  • Check for any protective tape or packaging that might have been missed.
  • If accessible, remove and reseat the print head. Sometimes, it might need cleaning or reseating.

4. Reset the Printer

Perform a factory reset if the error persists:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.:
  • Leave the printer unplugged for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

5. Check for Firmware and Software Issues

  • Firmware: Verify once more that your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. You can check HP’s support website for the latest updates.
  • Printer Software: Ensure that your printer software and drivers on your computer are up-to-date.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day
