OK I did all that. Now I can't get by the "X Ink Cartridge" Problem error message... Looks like it's the color cartridge... I thought it was the B&W one but when I looked it upon my computer printer icon, it says that the tri-color cartridge has a failure. Should I buy a new one?" Problem is, I buy a new one and maybe it still doesn't work !

You may remove the color ink cartridge and check if you are able to use the printer with only the black.

Keep me posted.

Holy Cow! It worked.... It printed not just from a copy, but from In Design - normal speed!  Thanks!  - So now I will buy the colored ink...

Thanks again. You saved me from buying a new printer. And that's great because up until this happened, this printer has far outlasted any other printer I ever bought.

Glad to know that the issue is now resolved. Yes, you may buy a new color ink cartridge now.

I thought it was fixed but I stand corrected. What I did was I cleaned the tri-colored ink cartridge chip with alcohol and put it back in and it's working again - (it's not stating that there's an ink cartridge failure anymore.) However, it is still printing at that extremely low speed. Funny, when I took it out and printed a B&W document it printed that at the normal fast speed. But when I put the colored ink back in it prints ridiculously slowly again. I also tried to copy (and print) a document and THAT was printing slowly too, so it's not a communication issue with the computer because you can copy something with the computer turned off.  Should I still go buy a new tri-colored ink cartridge? Or is there something else we should try first?

Sorry to open this case back up again. I thought the issue was solved.

If the printer continues to print at normal speed when you remove the color ink cartridge, it means it could be an issue with that color ink cartridge.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the replacement options for the ink cartridge.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
