Hi @gurgyan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0XB94DA7E6 on your HP OfficeJet 4658 usually indicates a hardware issue, but you can try a few troubleshooting steps to reset the printer and resolve it.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the electrical outlet.
  • Wait for 60 Seconds: This will allow any residual power to drain from the printer.
  • Reconnect the Printer: Plug the printer back into the electrical outlet and turn it on.

Hard Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Hold the Power Button: While the printer is unplugged, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Plug the Printer Back In: After 30 seconds, plug the printer back into the power source and turn it on.

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Open the printer's access door and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing an error.
  • If you find any, carefully remove them.

Reset to Factory Settings (if possible)

If the printer turns on after the above steps, you can reset it to factory settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4

The printer still won't turn on. Is there anything else I can try?

Thank you very much in advance

Hi @gurgyan,

Thank you for your response,

If your HP OfficeJet 4658 printer still won't turn on after following the steps you've outlined, here are some advanced troubleshooting methods you can try.

Inspect Power Source and Connections

  • Test the Power Outlet: Plug another device (like a lamp or phone charger) into the same outlet to ensure it is working.
  • Check Power Cord and Adapter:
    • Inspect the power cord and adapter for visible damage, such as cuts or fraying.
    • If you have access to another compatible HP power cord/adapter, try using it.

Bypass Power Strips or Surge Protectors

  • Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet. Sometimes power strips or surge protectors can limit the required power.

Perform an Advanced Hard Reset

  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Hold down both the # and 3 keys on the printer’s keypad.
  • While holding these keys, reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Continue holding the keys until the printer powers on or displays an initializing screen.

Inspect Internal Components

If comfortable, you can:

  • Check for Loose Components: Open the printer to ensure all internal parts (like the ink cartridges and printhead) are securely seated.
  • Look for Visible Damage: Inspect for burnt marks, broken parts, or leaks inside the printer.

Use a Different Firmware Recovery Tool

  • Download and install HP’s Firmware Recovery Tool (available on the HP website).
  • Connect the printer to your computer via USB, even if it doesn’t turn on.
  • Follow the tool’s instructions to attempt firmware recovery.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
