Hi @jolliebollie,
I understand your printer is showing the error code 0xC0260000 (TRTH readstop C) and is not working as expected. Let’s go through a few steps to help resolve this.
a. Power Cycle the Printer
Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
Wait for at least 60 seconds to discharge any residual power.
Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors), then turn the printer back on.
b. Check Ink Cartridges & Carriage Movement
Open the cartridge access door and check if the carriage moves freely.
Remove the ink cartridges, gently clean any ink or dust around the electrical contacts with a dry lint-free cloth.
Reinstall the cartridges and ensure they are seated properly.
c. Inspect Paper Path & Internal Jams
Remove all paper from the input and output trays.
Open the rear access panel or duplexer (if available) to check for any paper scraps or obstructions.
Carefully rotate the rollers with your fingers and ensure nothing is stuck inside.
d. Clean Encoder Strip (If Visible)
Carefully locate the transparent plastic strip behind the carriage.
Gently wipe it with a soft lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
This strip helps the carriage detect its position—if dirty, it can cause carriage and TRTH errors.
e. Reset Printer Firmware Settings
On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
Confirm the reset – this will not delete your Instant Ink account or Wi-Fi settings but refreshes internal firmware functions.
f. Reconnect to Network & Disable Web Services Temporarily
Reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi via Wireless Setup Wizard.
Go to Settings > Web Services > Remove/Disable Web Services and then re-enable after a restart, in case the error is triggered during server communication.
I hope this helps.
