Hi @Bwilliams1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you are getting an  E0 error code on an HP printer indicates a cartridge issue. Here is a step-by-step guide to help resolve this issue, especially if it persists even after changing the cartridges:

Steps to Fix the E0 Error Code:

Remove and Reinstall the Cartridge:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Wait for the carriage to move to the center.
  • Lightly press down on the cartridge indicated by the blinking ink level icon (left for color, right for black), and remove it.
  • Reinstall the cartridge so that it snaps securely into place with a clicking sound.
  • If both icons are blinking, repeat the process for the other cartridge.
  • Close the cartridge access door and press the "X" button on the control panel to clear the error code.

Inspect the Cartridge:

  • Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridge.
  • Set it down on a protected surface, being careful not to touch the ink nozzles or contacts.
  • Verify the cartridge part number for compatibility with your printer model by checking online at Ink Toner & Paper - HP® Store.

Inspect for Damage:

  • Check if there's any visible damage, obstruction, or packing material on the cartridge, and remove any present tape.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • If the error code doesn’t clear after reinstalling the cartridge, turn off the printer.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then restart the printer to reset it.

Replace the Cartridge:

  • If, after reinstalling the cartridge, the problem persists, you might need to replace the faulty ink cartridge.

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges, as compatibility issues may arise with non-genuine products.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
