Hi @th59s2m2c9,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 0XB86B7430 on your HP Envy 4520 printer typically indicates a hardware issue related to the printer's internal mechanisms or components. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

1. Restart the Printer

  1. Power Cycle:
    • Turn off the printer using the power button.
    • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
    • Wait at least 60 seconds to allow any residual power to dissipate.
    • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then reconnect it to the printer.
    • Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

2. Check for Obstructions

  1. Inspect Printer Interior:
    • Open the printer cover and check for any obstructions such as paper jams, loose pieces of paper, or foreign objects that could be causing the error.
    • Remove any obstructions carefully.

3. Reset the Printer:

  • This procedure resets the printer to its factory default settings but retains some settings like network and language settings.
  • Press the back button (arrow icon) and the cancel button (cross icon) on the printer's control panel simultaneously for 5 seconds.
  • Follow any on-screen instructions that may appear.

4. Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure that all cartridges are properly installed and seated correctly.
  • Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure they are securely in place.

5. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website, enter your printer model (Envy 4520), and download/install any available firmware updates.
  • Firmware updates can sometimes resolve known issues and improve printer performance.

6. Perform Print Head Cleaning

  1. Clean Print Heads:
    • Use the printer's control panel or HP Smart app on your computer to run a print head cleaning cycle.
    • This can help clear any clogged nozzles or printhead issues that may be causing the error.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
