macOS 12.0 Monterey

Pages come out blank, including when I try printing status reports etc directly from the printer. Have tried changing and  cleaning cartridges. Thanks

Hello,

If internal printer pages (Status Report, Print Quality Report, Alignment Page, etc.) also come out blank, that tells me this is not a macOS or driver issue — it’s isolated to the printer’s print engine or the cartridges themselves.

Before I decide whether this is recoverable or needs depot repair, I need a bit more detail:

Please confirm:

  1. Do the cartridges show as “Genuine HP” or “Non-HP” on the printer display?
    (Non-HP cartridges often fail to fire ink even if they physically “fit.”)

  2. When you remove the cartridges, does the copper/gold printhead on the cartridge look:

    • Wet/inked

    • Dry

    • Streaked

    • Burned or scratched

  3. Did this start after installing new cartridges, or did the printer slowly fade to blank pages?

  4. When you run the built-in “Clean Cartridges” from the printer menu, does any ink appear on the page— even faint marks?

  5. Are you using Instant Ink cartridges or retail 65/65XL cartridges?
